Review of The Exterminator (1980) by Jon W — 18 Jun 2007
After "Death Wish" but before "Vigilante," there was "The Exterminator," an unspectacular revenge flick with an inexpressive hero (Robert Ginty won't make anyone forget Charles Bronson) and an oft-draggy pace (really, how many scenes of men assembling/hitching up their weapons do we need?); while the film does up the ante in terms of gore (including a mafioso put through a meat grinder) and sleaze (a young hooker tortured by a chickenhawk), the end result merely plods along when it should have the audience on the edge of their seats.
