Not a horrible remake... but not necessarily a good one either. The original ("Das Experiment") leaves the viewer feeling disturbed and uneasy as events spiral out of control. In typical Hollywood feel-good fashion, this version ends with true love's kiss, completely at odds with the rest of the film.
