Review of The Experiment (2010) by Taylor B — 07 May 2011
This movie had so much potential, it wasn't bad but without Adrian Brody and Forrest Whitaker it would have been terrible. I think that this movie may have been based on the Stanford Prison Experiment where the same exact thing pretty much happened, but they added way too much crazy shit in this.
Another thing that bothered me was how Adrian Brody was being made out to be the hero, he was the one starting all the trouble to begin with. He was claiming to be such a peace activist in the beginning, but he was actually a rebel with no respect for authority and he wasn't even bright enough to play by the rules for 2 weeks so he could get paid.
The guards had a very specific job to do and Brody made it hard or nearly impossible the entire time. His character needs to get his priorities straight and learn how to put things into perspective, I could not find it within myself to feel pity for his character.
No sympathy for a martyr.
