Review of The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) by Gottfried H — 07 May 2010
DONNY SAYS: this movie is based loosely on some facts of true events. Exorcism does happen in some rare cases. On this case, not one, but six evil spirits (Nero, Belial, Cain, Judas, Legion and the fookin' boss himself, Lucifer) possesed into one 19 year-old college student named Emily Rose. The poor-doomed girls was so sick and in terrible shape when Catholic church decided to perform exorcism that eventually lead to total failure and the death of Emily Rose.
The following sequences were involving the prosecution of Father Moore into trial for death by negligence, and Father Moore's determination to testify on the true events, something that Emily Rose had wished before she died. The testimony was in order to tell the world what had really happened, hoping that faith and interests on religion might increase, so Emily Rose would not died in vain.
Overall, the movie is extremely interesting. 5 stars delivery by Jennifer Carpenter to portray demonic possesion condition without special effects, that was something really rare and awesome in today's cinematography.
