Review of The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) by Kathleen C — 24 May 2010
A surprisingly courtroom drama-y horror film. And one where I actually enjoyed the courtroom bits far more than the horror bits. The horror bits were amazingly dull in fact. Not scary, not even enjoyable in the way that most crappy horror films are sort of enjoyable. Just dull.
And the courtroom bits are very stop-start. One second, there's a fair bit of momentum to them and they're very enjoyable, the next, they're also incredibly boring.
Not a great film.
Personal enjoyment: 4/10.
Actual quality as a film: 4/10.
