Review of The Ex (2006) by Lilly P — 26 Apr 2008
This aint a damn funny film. It is a smiley funny film. It dont make you really laugh but it also dont make you want to turn it off. It's all the more watchable because of the cast. 2 of the kings of classic sitcoms - Braff from Scrubs and Bateman from Arrested Development - in the same film is what sells it and it works for the most part coz of them.
Bateman is the better of the 2 as he gets the funnier role whilst Braff does his usual turn as the everyman type who is struggling with being a geezer in a modern world. Nice supporting turns from Charles Grodin and Paul Rudd pops up at the beginning too.
Dont expect a lot and you'll get a breezy, bright and fun film.
