Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Kyle Micheal H — 05 Apr 2013
Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead is a horror classic and is definitely one of my all-time favorites in the horror genre. Does this movie has it's problems? Yes it does, but this movie is just so entertaining that it's easy to look past it's flaws.
Writer/director Sam Raimi just does an incredible job at crafting this movie, the story is well told and his directing style for this movie is just so unique. For a 1981 horror film I have to say that this movie actually scared me a bit, I just found some parts in this movie to be very creepy.
The film's practical effects are amazing and is one of the reasons why I found this movie to be scary. Bruce Campbell is great as Ash and is one of the reasons why I love this movie. The rest of the cast is fine but nothing special.
Overall The Evil Dead is must see for horror fans and is one of best of the horror genre.
