Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Melvin W — 27 Jun 2013
Sam Raimi's The Evil Dead is an enjoyable and hilarious horror film. It should not be taken seriously, as it does not take itself seriously, giving it a unique quality that balances realism with absurdity.
Character stupidity is minimal and the gore is comedic, adding to the fun. Films such as this are perfect for the camp nights with friends and pop-corn, for those pleasurable laughs and simultaneous shocks.
