Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Brian H — 01 Jul 2013
It's cheesy, it's gory, and there is nudity. must be an 80's horror movie! The Evil Dead is one of my favorite films of all time, it's freaky and made me scared of the woods for good reasons.
Demons, zombies and rape trees (fans will know what I mean) come together to attack these poor teens in a cabin in the woods. Although this is the first appearance of the main character of the series Ashley Williams, he doesn't do anything in this horror, except survive I guess.
He doesn't even use his signature chainsaw. The concept is generic however, a few teens go to the woods in what supposed to be a weekend of booze, sex and drugs. When one idiot reads a book that's written in blood (the Necronomicon) all hell (literally) breaks loose and makes these sorry teen's lives (what little they have left to live) horribly terrifying.
The movie's a horror classic and the blood, while ridiculously fake, has a charm to it. An Evil Dead charm.
