Review of The Evil Dead (1981) by Myles B — 28 Jul 2013
An extremely creative horror film, brought to life entirely by limitation. Evil Dead's strength is in it's complete disregard for traditional Horror Film technique, using crazy shots to convey the onscreen insanity instead of a much steadier camera to show everything at once.
You never get a clear picture of the gashes the characters suffer or the monsters attacking them, and it allows you to fill it in with your own gruesome details. It's haunting and yet hilarious, and definitely worth it's weight in gallons of blood, and that's saying something!
