Review of The Equalizer (2014) by James C — 29 Mar 2015
Very reminiscent of Man On Fire. Denzel plays the guy who's expertise is vengeance which he exacts with surgical precision. He even has a similar back story. The similarities are rather striking. Except instead of a Mexican cartel, you get a Russian mob. And instead of an innocent child, you get an aspiring singer who wants to escape a life of prostitution.
Other than that, very much the same. Plenty of violence. Ample amounts of blood.
If you're looking for a sequel to the original Equalizer, you won't likely find it here.
