Review of The Entity (1982) by Jean F — 18 Oct 2007
The thought of a poltergeist rapist might not be everyone's cup of cocoa but consider this: the film is based on true events, in fact, the most interesting poltergeist activity ever documented. The Entity, thought flawed (some plot inadequacies knock it down a level from the likes of The Exorcist or The Omen), is certainly stylistically effective.
It also features strong performances, especially Barbara Hershey, and maintains an ominous tone throughout.
