Review of The English Surgeon (2007) by Dickie L — 12 Aug 2009
Made for TV doco is no world beater as far as technical achievement goes, but the material itself is very moving and inspirational. Henry Marsh is the English surgeon of the title who spends much of his time in Ukraine helping out a colleague struggling with an underfunded medical system.
Makes you grateful that we have the medical resources that we do and aren't literally dying or going blind while waiting for a diagnosis. Also makes you want to get off your backside and spend more time helping others.
