Cried harder than I have for any other movie in my entire life, with second place going to Edward Scissorhands. I cried so hard and felt the characters' pains so strongly, and I could relate to the nurse's sense of feeling cursed by the death of everyone she loves, as I've lost someone close to me every three to ten years since I was about three or four years of age (yeah, that explains a lot, doesn't it? Lol).

Even hubby teared up. This Oscar-winning, powerhouse of a period piece's story was beautifully, intricately spun with unique, lovable, human characters. The scenery was exotic, the soundtrack transformational. It's not that we condoned what was happening, yet we could not help but literally *feel* for them--how life, love, gain and loss unfurled for all of them. The moral of the story: Don't mess with a married man or woman, and hold true to your Vows of Holy Matrimony, lest you wreck homes, lives, or even entire countries...
