Review of The English Patient (1996) by Tatsuhito K — 25 Aug 2016
"The English Patient" is one of my favorite films of all time. It's a sad movie, a deeply moving and complex love story that is beautifully made and powerfully told. Its excessive length can be off-putting for some people, but I love films like this that takes its time to develop the characters, that allows us to understand their feelings and reasoning behind their action.
It has elegant visuals, strong production values, and really good performances, all conducted by Anthony Minghella. This movie completely swept me away. It's a film that I would love to revisit every now and then.
It's a film that will get merrier with multiple viewing, finding more questions and more answers as you watch it again and again. I loved it.
