Review of The Enforcer (1976) by Jay L — 06 Jun 2011
--"You really are a dirty basterd, aren't ya Harry?".
--"The dirtiest.".
The Enforcer was the third installment of the Dirty Harry franchise. Helmed by Director James Fargo it's another high-flying and clip-emptying endeaver through urban San Francisco. Without a doubt, it's the weaker of the four films, but with that being said, it's still a thoroughly enjoyable classic. The grittiness, the violence, the bullets, the shootouts and the action are back at it in this thrill-a-minute action escapade. This time around join "Dirty" Harry Callahan as he tries to infiltrate a radical religious sect that's been tied to several terrorist attacks throughout San Fran. It's got the Dirty Harry trademarks, snappy dialogue, plentiful laughs and humor and of course the legend himself Clint Eastwood at his best. The action doesn't stop for one second and the Magnum barrels are blazing and blistering hot throughout from the nonstop shootouts. The Enforcer is a bunch of trigger happy entertainment that thrills forte entire runtime. Not an inferior film at all, but definately a bit more dull and worn than the first two films. Still a classic and will be for years and years to come.
Clint Eastwood reprises his iconic role, and as usual, he's on top of his game. He delivers top-notch acting, he's about as bad-ass as a bad-ass can possibly get. Harty Guardino is back and does is great.
