Review of The End of the Affair (1999) by Michele B — 14 May 2008
Definitely one of my favorites. This is the movie that made Julianne Moore (with a very convincing British accent!) one of my favorite actresses. As par the course, Ralph Fiennes puts in an intense performance and Stephen Rea is terrific at fleshing out the role of the cockcolded husband that in Graham Greene's book isn't given much credence. A delight is the guy that played the private eye.
This movie's intense, romantic, and tragic. It manages to converge the ideas of God, sex, and duty. Those wacky English!
