Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Tsubaki S — 06 Oct 2008
Marvolous true story of man who is called The Elephant Man. His real name is (in film) John Merrick and he is suffering probably a disease called Proteus syndrome which causes malformations. Merrick is a part of freak circus before a surgeon Frederick Treves saves him and gives him real life (althought Treves's actions isn't at first purely altruistic).
John Hurt is playing Merrick whose destiny is heart warming and touching. Truely a masterpiece with a wonderful story. It must be seen.
