Awesome! As the people below me said - never pathetic. I watched this movie a long,long time ago and I still remember thinking "Here we go again,another shitty old movie"...But it's just superb.
Mostly it tells you that looks...they just don't matter. Elephant man was treated as an animal, most of his life. But the point is - he never was an animal. The animals were people around him, who treated him like shit, just because he was deformed.
