Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Srishti N — 21 Oct 2009
We often have pre conceived notions about the face we meet and I was no different. However, by the end of experiencing the film alone Lynch gets me to weep for a freak. He calmly paints the monstrous society that undeniably often behaves worse than a freak.
Lynchâ??s contribution thru such story telling enlightens us that one canâ??t cure a freak but definitely can CARE for em! The film seemed dreamlike with textured black and white cinematography that added to the realistic set up of this film.
He definitely guides you to the beauty behind the ugly freak. Guess ppl are often frightened by only what they don't understand. Definitely inspiring!
