Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Deepak C — 30 Apr 2011
When "Mulholland Drive" and "Lost Highway" are intense in surrealism,David Lynch's classic "The Elephant Man" is emotionally intense...set in 19th century London, the movie-based on a true story-is about a man afflicted with a disfiguring congenital disease;how a person so very intelligent and sensitive at heart is traumatized by the society due to his disfigurement.
..the story-telling/execution is very straight-forward that Lynch has managed to convey the core content to the audience and strike the cord of humanity and compassion, making our eyes go wet with tears at times.
..Anthony Hopkins and John Hurt, both has delivered extra-ordinarily marvellous performances...also,another striking characteristic about the movie is the fine editing;the scenes merge so well consequently!!!.
..overall,a great movie-watching experience...go for it!!!...
