Review of The Elephant Man (1980) by Mohamed F — 25 Oct 2012
David Lynch is an exceptional filmmaker, and this is one of the greatest films ever made since the Lumiere brothers invented the moving pictures, doesn't really excel at any technical aspects, other than the splendid job done with the makeup, but the story itself, how its told, and the emotional impact that Lynch showed a great craftsmanship on delivering it, it's perhaps one of the very few films that was just purely human, just raw humanity and emotions, which in Lynch's weirdness, the film itself is much like its protagonist, it might scare you, it might shock you, it might disgust you, but if you put all those negative judgements aside and try to get to know it, you'll uncover a tremendous flow of innocence and beauty.
