Review of The Egyptian (1954) by Erik W — 25 Dec 2010
Saw this movie on Laser Disc because that's the only available way to view this movie in it's original widescreen format, which is the best way to enjoy the Oscar nominated cinematography by Leon Shamroy.
The acting is pretty good even though this movie doesn't have the star power that other epics of the time had. I think this movie was under rated becaues there is a lot to enjoy in this. The set designs and costumes were great and the music score composed by the legendary composers Alfred Newman and Bernard Herrmann all outstanding.
I only hope this comes to DVD soon.
