Review of The Edukators (2004) by Tibor B — 13 Dec 2007
A fine film indeed, which may seem a little predictable in many ways to begin with but keep watching because things take off when, shock horror, the characters start talking! This film works regardless of whether you buy into the trios anti-capitalist, anarchic ethos.
The film is smart enough to delve into the grey areas and provide a strong counter-argument which I found surprising. While it's heart may be with the idealistic youth it also gives the opposing viewpoint a sincere and honest voice in the form of the kidnapped businessman, a former student political rebel himself, who through the decades, finds himself perceived as the very sort of person he once despised.
Though they obviously agree to disagree you feel that all the characters have learnt something from each other, and that it has been a pleasure to accompany them.
