Review of The Edukators (2004) by Vincent M — 03 Mar 2008
I've always been a sucker for films which introduce their characters as stereotypes but proceed to dissect these cliches by having the characters rediscover themselves and their beliefs. German film the Edukators is no exception.
When a trio of young adults who refer to themselves as the Edukators and take part in non-violent political activism by rearranging the furniture of wealthy families are involved in an accidental kidnapping they are forced to react by reevaluating human nature and what may have at one time seemed clear cut truths about society.
The film's relatively low budget has no effect on the film's worth as a thoughtful and intelligent film. A love triangle adds more intrigue to the film's plot.
