Review of The Education of Charlie Banks (2007) by Seán G — 25 Jun 2012
Who would have thought that Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit fame could direct such a great film. A young Eisenberg ztars as Banks, a timid and shy college student in the late 70s/early 80s, and his time in his first year of college and his relationship with NYC bully/criminal Mick, played by Jason Ritter.
While Banks is the protagnosit, most of the story is about Mick's transformation from criminal to aspiring achiever and how he fits into Bank's already perfect and natural life. I'm already a sucker for coming of age films and this one is no exception.
The preformances are great, especially by Ritter, the story is engaging and the delievery is unexpected. This is one of those films that nobody knows yet everyone should get around to seeing at least once.
