Review of The Edge of Love (2008) by Sarah M — 27 Jun 2008
Enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I was going to. By far the best thing about the movie for me was Cillian Murphy who I found mesmerising - the contrast between his relationship with Vera before and after he'd been to war was 100% believable.
I also liked the way the film portrayed the impact of the arrival on children on the characters both as individuals and within their relationships. Something that's not usually explored in this type of film.
The film was quite long but kept me absorbed for its entirety and I've been thinking about it on and off all day.
