Melodramatic? Yes. Cliched dialogue? Absurd closeup of Anothony Hopkins saying "We're gonna kill this motherfucker!" You betcha. But, if you mix 2 above average performances, some real fear of being eaten alive and the spectacular vistas of some of Alaska's finest untouched land you get a fine movie worth watching; especially if you have HD and a good sound system to appreciate the cinematograpy and minimalistic but powerful audio.
