Review of The Edge (1997) by William G — 01 Nov 2018
Don't let any of the pretentious critics and even a good portion of the overweening lay audience deter you from this film. The reason it is not constituted as one of the most critically acclaimed masterpieces of the last century is because it represents a white billionaire in a kinder light than the majority of films which generally portrays them as something akin to a capitalist hitler.
It is a wonderful film criminally underrated and will simply awe you with the gravity and truth it aspires to illuminate. Which is that poverty does not inherently entail virtue and that wealth does not necessarily imbue the prosperous with vice.
Occasionally, the the rich man is also the good man.
