Review of The East (2013) by Renee P — 05 Oct 2013
The East starts off a little confusing and then becomes something I wasn't expecting, but not so much in a good way. Even though it brings a newer concept to the movies, there was so many opportunities to enhance the plot and make you care about the characters.
Too much predictability ruined it for me. The trailer seems to be misleading, giving you the impression that it will be disturbing to watch. I waited for there to be a huge twist, some sort of suspense that kept me edgy, but instead the ending falls flat and makes you wish you would have never put your time into something that fails on every level in the last few minutes of the film.
