Review of The Eagle (2011) by Peter_Labose_La — 17 Feb 2011
Predictable? Yes. Suspenseful? Perhaps, at times. I found it to be engaging despite the aforementioned qualities. Having lived in a similar type environment allowed me to engage in the characters revealed and the terrain on which they lived.
The seal people creation is historically inaccurate on so many levels but it is a movie and such depictions, IMHO, should be permitted for the sake of entertainment provided it doesn't slam any obvious group of people or culture.
There was a nice strong, masculine bond between lead characters and the non use of profanity was a welcomed rarity. I have friends who have watched it multiple times. Once was good for me, however, I did enjoy the experience.
