I hate to be one of those people, but the book was better. As much as I enjoyed the positive message that the movie was aiming at, the storyline of both Bianca's acceptance of herself, and the romance between Wesley and Bianca was much better in the book. We never got to see the deeper side of Wesley that was portrayed in the book and it got lost behind his dipshit jock with great abs stereotype, which was a huge part of the storyline itself. Despite its flaws with the character development I thought it was an entertaining movie. Mae Whitman and Robbie Amell have fantastic chemistry and Ken Jeong was amazingly funny as always.

EDIT :

After watching the movie a second time several key plot points that were mentioned in the book were left out of the movie. I understand that they were trying to aim and market this movie for a certain demographic, but I feel as though the movie would have been much better had there been specific points used in the movie. Such as the real home life of Bianca, more detail about the friendship of the three girls, and the true story of Wes's home life and family ( which gave more depth to the character rather than making him come across as some air head jock).
