Review of The Duellists (1977) by Paul C — 30 Apr 2008
This film is almost two films in one. The first half focusing on the quarrel between the two protagonists; the second half, focusing on D'hubert's romantic interest, has an almost Jane Austin like quality to it.
The costumes are superb, the dialogue is subtle and clever. A work of art on the part of director Ridley Scott. (pity about the one minute tarot scene, the only blemish).
