Review of The Duellists (1977) by Ben R — 07 Aug 2009
Terrific cinematography and a psychologically complex denouement are the highlights of this period piece from Ridley Scott, making an impressive feature debut. The escalating duel can be humorously absurd at times, but the ultimate ramifications of these character's misguided sense of honor is thought-provoking and entertaining.
