Extremely good. Nice slow build up of tension, and a payoff at the climax that makes it all worthwhile. Starts slow, but never gets too slow, and always builds pieces onto the existing story, and well paced enough that any time I was just beginning to think it was too slow, the story advanced.
It's quite ambiguous too; you're never quite sure where anybody stands. Oh, and there's a puppy. It's always helpful to have a puppy. Won't work for everyone, but for me it did.
