Review of The Drop (2006) by John Eric D — 02 Jun 2015
I really like these good quality films, especially a film by an acclaimed international director Michael Roskam. An intense crime drama about a guy named Bob (portrayed by Tom Hardy) and was surrounded by syndicates who runs a business in the city.
More like a Brooklyn type of ambiance with the mobs involved. I really like the protagonist handles the whole situation as if he is kinda blind with the whole thing, but in the end, anything goes around as how the plot is twisted.
Awesome job by Hardy as well as Rapace for the performance. And special mention to Gandolfini as this is one of his last films that we will miss him so dearly. The dialogue is just a powerful asset in this film, its natural yet violent at the same time.
Well executed movie as this is definitely a one heck of a crime drama of this year. 4 out of 5 stars.
