Review of The Driver (1978) by Naoya K — 06 Dec 2011
The first of what I'd like to call "Walter Hill's Urban Cowboys Trilogy," which is followed by "The Warriors" and "Streets of Fire." What amazes me as much as well-acclaimed car chase scenes is its beautiful noir-ish cinematography.
The bitter and ironic ending, which is pretty much the characteristic of the films of the same age (American New Wave), is nice, too.
