Review of The Dressmaker (2015) by Erika W — 20 Oct 2015
This should become a iconic classis of Australian movie making - strong characters, quirky storyline and camera work that makes the desolation of the Australian outback, visually beautiful. This is a film about vulnerable women made strong.
There is no man to save them; (this ain't Hollywood) and the script makes sure these women really are left to stand alone, yet united. Winslet's Aussie accent is the most perfect I've heard.
Special applause to Liam Hemsworth's clothes for falling off just often enough to keep us transfixed.
