Review of The Dressmaker (2015) by Timm S — 07 Jul 2016
The Occasional Off-Beat Rhythm & Comic 'Bits' Added To The Script, Just At The Right Time, Does Lighten The Mood Just Enough To Stem The Periods Of Borden When The Story Drags A Bit. Winslet Leads In Style, Mostly Because She Fits In Smoothly With The Costumes & Locations, Alongside Davis There Is Some Real Solid Acting Moments Too.
The Other Cast Really Just Act As Gap Fillers, The Array Of Mis-Fits Filling A Shakespeare Play For Example That Keeps You Guessing About Things...On This Occasion, It Kinda Gets A Bit Done..Especially By The Time You Hit The 1hr-40-Mark With Still 20-Minutes To Go.
