This movie is incredibly all over the place, and I kind of admire about it. The tone shifts constantly and at one point, I wasn't sure what kind of movie I was watching. But I can't say it doesn't have its moments.
Kate Winslet is reliably excellent as usual and there is some really terrific costume design. I can't say "The Dressmaker" is a good movie, but I must say it is a well-made film. Not for everyone and it is full of flaws, but if you can accept its weirdness I think you can enjoy it.
