Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by John T — 24 Jan 2008
This one is on the list of my all-time favorite movies. The dreamy and beautiful sadness and passion, with underpinnings of fantasy, accompanied by haunting music, made for a film that still lingers with me today after many years.
Tired of waiting for DVD version, I ordered a VHS tape, digitized it to DVD, and created a PG edited version so my wife could see it. The only blemish is the inexplicable story line about V's perjured testimony in the divorce, though I guess KK had his character reasons for doing it.
