Review of The Double Life of Véronique (1991) by Jordan M — 28 Jun 2009
A beautiful, haunting and erotic film. The story unfolds so delicately and the acting is so spot on, you stare at the screen in amazement.
If images in the world of film were actually ever to psychically represent poetry, Slawomir Idziak's photography would match that description. His photography cleverly transitions back and forth between surrealistic lush dreamlike images and images of a world that one would consider to be actual reality. Without being tricky or manipulative, the images have a strange effect on your brain - but in a good way. A great way, in fact.
