Review of The Double (2014) by Ray H — 11 May 2014
This is a tour-de-force film with incredible cinematography, direction, and a solid (though slightly underwhelming) performance from Jesse Eisenberg. In the end, Eisenberg was probably extremely well cast (especially as the confidence-lacking introvert), but he doesn't exactly steal the scene.
Everything else about the film, though, is well-done. A clear throw-back to Welles' The Trial and, of course, Gilliam's Brazil. Best film of 2014 so far.
