Review of The Double (2014) by Chok S — 03 Oct 2014
Written and directed by Richard Ayoade, he once again proves himself that he's not only a comedic genius actor (as he played in one of my favourite TV series ever, The IT Crowd) but also a genius in his directing career.
The film is pretty much similar to the film Enemy (2013) with a plot that will have your brain working after the movie ends. But unlike Enemy, this film is much more entertaining to watch the whole way through thanks to a perfectly balanced script in comedy, drama, romance, and suspense that will keep you laughing, smiling, while building the tension and can really hit your spot from time to time.
Overall, this is an all around perfectly balanced film with its intriguing performance, sound tracking, and a smartly haunting plot that's unforgettable in its brilliance and uniqueness. [B+].
