Review of The Double (2014) by Bobby K — 24 Dec 2014
A Gilliam-esque drama channeled through a Lynchian lens, The Double is a surreal, captivating showcase for the rising talent Richard Ayoade. Featuring strong performances from Eisenberg, playing two very different characters with expertise and subtlety, and Wasikowska as the equally intimidating and delicate, the film also features an impressive screenplay that is brimming over with concepts and ideas.
Its soundtrack and cinematography are perfectly matched, creating an atmosphere of despair and isolation. A hauntingly existential work, and one that you must see as soon as possible,.
