Review of The Doors (1991) by Jhay A — 27 Apr 2008
This was a let-down. I suppose it was cutting-edge when it came out, but it just does not hold up to biopics like Walk the Line and Ray. I liked Val Kilmer's performance about half of the time, but the other half just descended into self-indulgence and parody of Jim Morrison.
Plus, the real Doors said that the movie was hugely inaccurate. I trust them more than I trust Oliver Stone. Great music, though (of course).
