Review of The Doors (1991) by Jesse M — 11 Dec 2008
Bought this on a blind-buy because I'd been wanting to see it for a while. I've been loving the band, and Kilmer is awesome. The performances of Kilmer and Ryan (at her absolute best here) are fantastic.
I'm a little hesitant towards Stone's stuff, but this was great. An interesting story, well told, with dream sequences that weren't too trippy or alienating. I didn't realize that Morrison had always been experimenting, I thought it was a "trappings of fame" type thing.
