Review of The Doors (1991) by Michael T — 19 Feb 2009
Why is it caklled THE DOORS, it seems to focus solely on the life of Doors frontman Jim Morrison. In this film, as in real life, Morrison overshadows the group he was the lead singer of. If you read No One Here Gets Out Alive, you will find no new insights into Morrison's character but Val Kilmer's portrayal is worth the price of admission.
Kyle MacLachlan isn't bad as Ray Manzarak, but he was portraying Agent Cooper on TWIN PEAKS at the time and had to wear that distractingl;y god-awful wig.
