Review of The Doors (1991) by Marcus W — 22 May 2009
I don't know Jim Morrison or The Doors but I find it hard to believe he was the selfish twat Stone and Kilmer paint him to be. Here he's a childish, self-important, twaddle-spouting alcoholic who considers himself to be a profound poet (Stone even makes a point of showing how his grave is amongst the likes of Proust, Chopin and Wilde) but the best he can come up with is rhyming "wine" with "vine".
It also has Stone's now mandatory 60's montage. Hendrix would have been a better choice...
