Review of The Doors (1991) by Sanity Assassin ! — 11 Sep 2009
Have always tried to avoid meg ryan in anything period. val kilmer has always been 50/50 with me... there's an excellent supporting cast. the first hour of the film was totally boring. the next 40 minutes was interesting and the last 40 were inspiring.
I enjoyed much more jim as the old beer belly rebel trying to incite the hatred. I don't think he was someone to look up to and looking at most 60's or 70's rock music "idols" I don't think there were many characters that were anything other than a bloody mess.
at least the sex pistols were honest about it when punk came along. ah haa... but no.... this film is either average or simply fun when you're with mates and the alcohol is flowling freely. nothing like music and sauce.
